Gilpin Historical Society’s 35th Annual Cemetery Crawl
Step back in time to hear the stories of those who lived and died in Gilpin County during this hike through history. Each year, a different cemetery in Gilpin County (there are 11) hosts the event and local history buffs portray those who now call these cities of the dead home.
The 35th Annual Cemetery Crawl is August 24, 2024, at 11 a.m. at Central City’s IOOF Cemetery (on Eureka Street above Central City).

The Leadville Irish Miners’ Memorial Ribbon Cutting
Saturday, Sept 16th, 10am – 2pm,
Leadville Evergreen Cemetery, Leadville, Colorado
The Leadville Irish Miners’ Memorial ribbon cutting and celebration of completion is on September 16, 2023.
The memorial was constructed in memory of the over 1100 Irish immigrants buried in unmarked graves – a symbol of their humanity, their lives and their struggles, in hope that their stories might continue.
